Ariane FRIEDRICH (GER)
"In Beijing I was not able to defend my chances at 100 percent. I had a problem with my pelvis and it couldn't be cured until I was back in Germany. So now I'm back at my normal level. Of course I'm happy with my performance. It is the frist time I clear 2 metres on a wet track. However, wet or dry... I regularly train on a wet track, so I was prepared for it." "It was really amazing to win here in Brussels. I guess Blanka (Vlasic) doesn't want to see me anymore today, because I grabbed away her part of the jackpot. But that's the way it goes at this level. I couldn't let Tia (Hellebaut) win here either in front of her homecrowd. She already has got her olympic gold medal. It's only fair they save something for the small ones."

Mike KIPYEGO (KEN)
I'm very happy with this race. Near to my PB and a third place. I missed thet Kenyan trials because of malaria, but I hope to do well next year for the world Championships. Beat Sihine . O, but he's very strong and I respect him for his running. I'll hope I can stay close to him in the future.

Monica PYREK (POL)
"I'm happy with the place, but not with te result. But after the warmup in the rain everyone was scared. I was even close to abandon the track. At the end of the competition I was wet all over, so it was not easy to jump. Now the season is not over for me: after Stuttgart, I still have another meet on Wednesday in my hometown Szeczyn/Stettin in Poland."

Kerron CLEMENT (USA)
"The last time I ran a race on a wet track was in........ 2005, I think. Yet, it didn't bother me at all, I felt confident from the first hurdle on. I've been pretty consistent all season long, always running low 48's. So this was just one more."

Miguel PATE (USA)
I had bad luck today: I got an injury after my second jump, which was still good enough to win the competition. So I had to miss the next jumps and went to the physio. Hopefully it is not too bad, sort of cramp I think. Hopefully my season doesn't end here. Its bitter-sweet: winning with an injury...

L.J. VAN ZYL (RSA)
It is difficult to race in these big meets after the Olympic final. But we are all tired and we try to enjoy ourselves as much as possible. Why the South Africans are so strong in this event ? Difficult question, but we have had great athletes in the past and everyone wants to run the hurdles. So its kind of tradition I think.

Andreas THORKILDSEN (NOR)
It's not easy to come from a warm Beiijing to a cold Europe, but as a double Olympic Champ I have my responsabilities to the meet organisers. So this evening I had a difficult competition: I got a slight injury but hopefully it wil not be to bad. I'll hope to compete in Stuttgart.

Janeth JEPKOSGEI (KEN)
"It is impossible to follow Jelimo, so I always run my own race. In the end I was pretty confifent and strong enough to keep my second place.
Marshevet HOOKER (USA)
"I knew the field was gonna be tough and it would be a cold race. But we have to be prepared to run in all conditions. So that's what I did today. Only God knows what would have happened i f I had run like this in Beijing. But I'm definitely very happy with the 22"62."
Elisa CUSMA (ITA)
"Of cours the pace in front was too fast, and the pace Jepkosgei ran behind her was too fast for me too. I just wanted to finish as strong as possible and I'm very happy with my 4th place. 1'59" at the end of the season is very good."

Johan WISSMAN (SWE)
This was difficult for me. I was sick for a few days, so couldnt act at my best level. Hopefully I will be better on sunday in Rieti. The weather will be better over there anyway. I am pleased the European runners do run well in the 400m. It is fun to be part of those guys.
LoLo JONES (USA)
"I spoiled my race in the start, and in the middle of the race I had troubles to race technically consistent. I still tried to win it at the end, but it was too late. But what a bad start. The whole winter I trained on it, I'm the indoor champion of the hurdles and now I miss my start!"
Christine OHURUOGU (GBR)
This race is fun. A 200m is not my thing, and after the gold medal in Beijing, I needed to take a short break. I will run other 400's this season, but I don't know where and when, but this 200m, was fun.
Ali Belal MANSOOR (BRN)
"This was a difficult race to win with a lot of tough competitors, especially since the pace was not high. Everyone could come out and kick in the end. Moreove I don't like a race in the wind, so I had to wait very long with my own kick. And I did well."
Delloreen ENNIS-LONDON (JAM)
'It's a pity I missed a medal in my last olympics. Today I proved again I could have done better there. But in the olympic village I felt some tightness in my hamstrings. I guess this injury troubled me there. Today I felt I could catch up with Onya on the 8th hurdle. I was a little faster, it was just a matter of keeping my technique."
Michael FRATER (JAM)
One two three four for Jamaica. And I'm fourth. Doesn't matter, as long as I'll be beaten by an fellow countrymen. I can live with this race and place.
Nick WILLIS (NZL)
It was a slow race and my sprintfinish is good. I prove the Africans can be beaten, certainly in a championshiprace, without any rabbits. I proved it in Bejiing. I dont know if my season is finished know. Of course I know John Walker, he was an idol of mine in New Zealand. I also know he was a good friend of Ivo Van Damme, so this meeting is kind of special for me.
Nesta CARTER (JAM)
"It was really exciting to be part of this race. You know there are these two guys in front and then you try your best. Yet my reaction time was not so good: too much anticipating. So after all I'm happy with my third place and with the 10.07 in this cold and with this headwind."
Wilfred BUNGEI (KEN)
"This was a real hard race for me. I tried to change my pace in the home straight but I couldn t go any faster. It was really tough, because after Beijing I went back to Kenia and I didn't have the opportunity to train. Moreover I didn't race in Zurich, so I lacked a little rhythm. And it was really cold tonight."
Chandra STURRUP (BAH)
It's definitely to cold for sprinting, but I'm happy to be part of Kim Gevaerts' last race. Before Stuttgart I will run another race but I'm hoping for better weather than this.
Youssef Saad KAMEL (BRN)
"This is one of ;y best wins of this season. I knew I was in good condition and I had a chance to win this race. Now I have one more race to go: the World Cup Final in Stuttgart.'
Paul Kipsiele KOECH (KEN)
I am so happy to beat the Olympic champion. I was the best Kenyan steeplechase runner of the year but at the trials I pushed Kipruto all the way but I became 4th. If they should allow more Kenyans to the Games ? No, I have to be the best at the best moment.
Brimin KIPRUTO (KEN)
I could follow the pace until the last two laps. And then Koech made his his kick, that's normal. He's the fastest. Indeed he was not in Beijing, no. That was okay for me.
Mo FARAH (GBR)
Rain and cold ? I love this weather ! Real British and it makes me think about cross country. I was very satisfied with my performance, a seasonal best. I always like to run here in Brussels. From her on we keep going on: next race is Stuttgart...
Isaac SONGOK (KEN)
I m very pleased with my second place. The pace was really what I expected and hoped for. In the end I was close to winning the race, but that would have been too much of a surprise.
Eliud KIPCHOGE (KEN)
"I'm really satisfied about this win, which is near my season's best. Today i had great legs and i'm just disappointed the weather was not too good to set a much greater time. But I cannot complain: the concurrence was good and I had to go fast in the end to win on the finish line. My finish was good"
