The “Marc Herremans Classic”
is the most important triathlon
in Belgium in 2004.
The name Marc Herremans has become a household name in Belgium. Marc was
a leading sportsman who after a dramatic fall was bound to a wheelchair.
His name has come to symbolise strength and determination. Just one year
and eight months after his fall, Marc crossed the finish line of the Ironman
on his handbike.
Compete in this half-triathlon alongside top athletes or run four or
eight kilometres and raise funds for To Walk Again.
Some of the world’s best will line up: Peter Reid, Luc Van Lierde,
Lothar Leder, Nicole Leder, Cyrille Neveu and many others. Top athletes
will also participate in the handbike category with the winner of the
Ironman Hawaii, Carlos Moleda, and of course Marc Herremans himself. All
proceeds will go to the Marc Herremans foundation: To Walk Again.
